Why I love running?

Well. I haven’t always been a runner… at one point I was actually 30kg overweight and living a very unhealthy lifestyle – mentally, physically and nutritionally.

I started running because it was the one thing in my life that I can control. It’s the one thing I know I can rely on and has gotten me out of some very unhealthy habits in life.

I run to feel alive, I run to find myself, I run because it makes me feel powerful, and I run because it makes me feel stronger.

Today like most days, I started my day with a 4am run and I do this because running in the morning sets you up for your day…

After a run in the morning, I feel more energetic and motivated to achieve our goals. I see my day with a more positive mindset.

Running (or working out) in the morning is one of the most self-rewarding things you can do for your body and mind.

Nowadays, I don’t go more than 1 day without getting out for a run or a light jog as it is great for my mental health too. Something that I learned quickly from plantar fasciitis last year when I had to transition to cycling and swimming as a temporary replacement. You can quickly go to a dark place if you lose your thing.

No matter what it is that you do, whether it be a walk, run, cycle, meditating or yoga and beyond, it’s so important to find YOUR thing(s). Your outlet – both physically and mentally that you like or love doing for life.
